Here’s a mishmash of videos from the past week:

Jens Lekman “Black Cab” Video, live performance in Hobart, Tasmania – I apologize for the quality and the angle. I filmed it from my lap because we weren’t supposed to video the concert, and I didn’t want to get caught. The audio, however, is excellent. This is a nice acoustic rendering of my favorite song.

Tropical Cyclone Larry in Cairns, Monday, March 20th – Video of the storm moving down the street. Category 5 storm (at the point I took the video, it was downgraded to 4).

Migrating Birds – Video of a bird migration we took a boat through. No one got crapped on (sadly).

Zoo Sounds

This week, I took a trip to the Sydney Aquarium and Featherdale Wildlife Park. I’ve decided that I don’t like aquariums and zoos; they make me sad. Don’t get me wrong. I’m no animal rights activist, and I’m not going to stage any late night ‘roo breakouts. It’s just that you are taking God’s amazing creatures and putting them in a really small cage. “Here’s the world’s most poisonous snake! Behind glass! We feed this ferocious beast daily so all he has to do is lay here still so you can get pictures with your dad with your thumbs up!”

At the Sydney Aquarium, all the fish start to look the same. The only thing I found was more reason to never ever swim here. After seeing a box jellyfish and then walking through the shark tank viewing area, I decided the ocean really isn’t worth my limbs.

Imagine my surprise when I realized all of my roomates have celebrity counterparts:

-Ryan is the spittin’ image of video game star Max Payne! Try not to confuse him for the gun blazing shoot-em-up cop!
-Dave is Patrick Fugit’s twin! Maybe you thought you saw him in Almost Famous?
-Sonath looks just like the mailman!

And with my resemblance to Orlando Bloom, we could start a tour of no-talent pop culture phenom look-a-likes!

Natalie and I had a good time (even though I look like I am about to pass out from heat stroke).

Oh man, this is just too funny.

Booze really “revs Greg up”, especially when he’s underage.

Squirrels and Trunk Monkeys* (video) have made this an all-around good weekend.

*Featured Trunk “Monkey” in the video is actually a chimp.

A bit of a correction…the “monkey washing a cat” video (shown on David Letterman) actually features a chimp. Yet another reason why chimps are cooler than straight-up, regular monkeys. Now you can sleep better at night.
